Wi-Fi
There is a Wi-Fi service available to our Hirers and their guests.
If you are a Hirer and wish to use our Wi-Fi, please register below
where you will be asked to agree to our Terms of Service.
You must read these before using our Wi-Fi, and once you have registered and agreed, you will receive an email with the current password.
Note, you are free to share the password with your guests.
Below are our Terms of Service, which are taken from our
Internet and Wi-Fi Use Policy:-
Purpose
This policy outlines the acceptable use of the internet and Wi-Fi services provided by Wootton Memorial Hall to ensure a safe, secure, and enjoyable experience for all users.
Scope
This policy applies to all individuals who access the internet and Wi-Fi services at the Memorial Hall, including trustees, visitors and volunteers.
Service and Support

Wootton Memorial Hall aims to provide an operational Wi-Fi connection with access to the internet free-of-charge for visitors and staff.

Technical support for the service is not provided.

The Memorial Hall cannot guarantee availability, speed of service or a continuous connection. The service is therefore not a condition of hire.
Acceptable Use

Use of the service is provided at the user's own risk and correct use is the user's sole responsibility.

Users must respect the privacy and rights of others.

The internet and Wi-Fi services are provided for lawful purposes only.

Users must not engage in any activity that is illegal, harmful, or inappropriate, including but not limited to:

Accessing or distributing offensive, obscene, or indecent material.

Engaging in harassment, bullying, or defamation.
-
Downloading or distributing copyrighted material without permission.
-
Attempting to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks.

Spreading viruses, malware, or other harmful software.
-
Interrupting the provision of service to other hall internet users.

Security

The internet and Wi-Fi service is provided via password protected access.

Unauthorised access to the router, associated equipment and cables is strictly prohibited (both physically and digitally)

Users must not attempt to bypass any security measures implemented by the Memorial Hall.

Users are responsible for the security of their own devices including, but limited to, appropriate firewall, antivirus, antimalware etc.

Hirers of the Memorial Hall are responsible for limiting or monitoring children’s access to the internet during their time of hire.

The Memorial Hall is not responsible for any loss or damage resulting from the use of the internet and Wi-Fi services.
Privacy

The Memorial Hall respects users’ privacy but reserves the right to monitor internet and Wi-Fi usage to ensure compliance with this policy.

Any personally identifiable data collected is solely for security and monitoring use of the Wi-Fi and internet services and will be handled in accordance with the Memorial Hall’s Data Protection Policy.
Liability

Wootton Memorial Hall is not liable for any damages or losses resulting from the use of the internet and Wi-Fi services.

Users agree to indemnify the Memorial Hall and its Trustees against any and all claims, losses, damages or legal proceedings (including any associated fees and expenses) arising from their use of the internet and Wi-Fi services.
Once you have registered below (you do not need to be in the Hall to do this), you should be sent an email showing you the current Wi-Fi password to use with our guest Wi-Fi service WMH Guest when you are in the Hall.
If you don’t receive an email within a minute or so, check your Junk mail and if the email is there, mark it as “not junk” or “never block sender” or whatever is appropriate for your email product. If you still don’t receive it, are you sure you gave us your correct email address? You can always register again.
You are welcome to share the password with your guests, but please do not share it outside of that, else other Hirers won't get password updates.
These only get sent to registered Hirers.
